MEDITATION PROBABLY DOES MORE THAN YOU THINK

Meditation is probably not what you think it is.

You have probably heard of meditation being practiced through religious or spiritual practices like Hinduism and Buddism. However meditation can also be used to manage, and eliminate stress in your day to day life.

Stress is a major issue in today’s society. We have grown accustomed to being stress all the time. Read more about the cause and effect of stress here.

Stress can create a negative impact on our bodies which could lead to diseases like anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue. By practicing meditation we create the awareness on how we can proactively react to certain situations and able to have that control over our minds.

Through meditation there are four different brain waves which are stimulated:

Alpha: calming charges in the automatic nervous system which allows your body to rest

Gamma: brings focus, stimulates positive emotions and decreases depressive feelings and symptoms.

Theta: third eye or higher intelligence - creates enlightenment or wisdom

Beta: typically seen in deep sleep - helps you connect into the unconscious mind.
